Umbral Sands Guide

Umbral Sands is the desert region added in update 0.12.0 on June 23, 2026. Defeat the Black Knight Titan to pass the gate, then prepare for Sunscorch, quicksand, three new vaults, the Fight Cave, Fuzan and the Nightmare Crucible.
Entry requirement and route
The official update states that the Black Knight Titan must be defeated before the gate into Umbral Sands opens. Treat that boss as the progression check: arrive with repaired gear, healing supplies, hydration support and free inventory space rather than discovering the requirement in the middle of a long resource run.
Environmental hazards
Sunscorch builds during prolonged sun exposure and its Scorch debuff rapidly drains hydration. Use shelter and shade, or travel during dawn and dusk. Quicksand blocks unsafe ground and requires a way over it, so route planning matters as much as combat power.
