How to Survive Sunscorch
Quick answer
Sunscorch is caused by prolonged exposure to the Umbral Sands sun. Once Scorch is applied, hydration drains rapidly. The confirmed counters are shelter, shade and travelling during dawn or dusk.
Safe travel plan
- Fill hydration before leaving a protected area.
- Mark nearby shade or player-built shelter before committing to a long route.
- Travel at dawn or dusk when the sun is less punishing.
- Turn back before Scorch and combat damage combine into an unrecoverable run.
Why preparation matters
Sunscorch is a route-management problem. Carrying better weapons does not replace cover or hydration. When farming Adamant or Yew, plan a repeatable loop with safe pauses instead of following a straight line across open sand. If a fight begins while hydration is collapsing, reposition into shade before trying to finish a long encounter.
