Dedicated Server Port Forwarding
Current answer
Forward UDP port 7777 for the first server. A second instance uses 7778 and subsequent servers continue upward. The port must pass through the host firewall and every router between the server and ISP.
Port checklist
- Give the server machine a stable local IP.
- Allow the selected UDP port in its firewall.
- Forward that UDP port to the machine in every router layer.
- Check whether the ISP uses restrictions or carrier-grade NAT.
- Restart the server and test from an external connection.
Common failure pattern
If other players can see the server in the public list but cannot join, Jagex identifies failed port forwarding as the likely cause. Opening TCP alone is insufficient because the documented server ports use UDP.
