Dedicated Servers Guide

Quick answer

Dragonwilds dedicated servers were introduced as a separate free Steam product and support up to six players. Jagex’s development update also described admin controls for kicking, banning and unbanning users.

Dedicated versus normal co-op

A dedicated server keeps world hosting separate from one player’s normal game session. That is useful for groups with different schedules, but it also introduces server administration, backups and version compatibility. Do not confuse the six-player dedicated-server cap with every peer-hosted session mode.

Before choosing a host

  • Confirm the current server tool version matches the game build.
  • Assign more than one trusted admin.
  • Plan backups before major updates.
  • Check console compatibility again at the September launch rather than assuming it.
  • Keep passwords and admin access outside public posts.
