World migration

Move a World to a Dedicated Server

Current answer

Stop the server, back up both save locations, empty the server Savegames folder, copy the local .sav file into it, then restart.

Windows source and server destination

  • Local source: C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Local\RSDragonwilds\Saved\SaveGames
  • Server destination: RSDragonwilds/Saved/Savegames

Safe migration sequence

  1. Stop the dedicated server.
  2. Copy every current server save to a separate backup folder.
  3. Back up the local world.
  4. Empty the server Savegames directory.
  5. Copy the chosen local .sav file into it.
  6. Start the server and verify the world before deleting any backup.
