Current crafting path

Iron Sword is a melee weapon. The June 2026 station overhaul assigns one-handed and two-handed weapons to the Blacksmith Bench. Older guides may still say Smithing Anvil; that label predates the 0.12 reorganisation and should not be used to diagnose a missing recipe.

1. Place and open the Blacksmith Bench.
2. Carry or link storage containing every listed ingredient.
3. Choose Iron Sword in the appropriate weapon category.
4. Confirm the output and remaining materials before starting another craft.

Gathering plan and bottleneck

The largest listed stack in this recipe is Iron Bar x8. Gather that component first, then obtain the rarer secondary materials. Vault Shards, Vault Cores and named masterwork parts deserve separate storage because replacing them usually takes longer than collecting common logs, bars or thread.

For co-op crafting, agree who owns the finished weapon before spending rare parts. The station can show a recipe while a linked chest is missing one stack, so compare each displayed count rather than assuming the craft button is a progression lock.

If the recipe is missing

First verify the game and server are on the same build. Pick up one of each material, reopen the journal, and check the Blacksmith Bench rather than an obsolete Anvil category. If the recipe still does not appear, confirm any quest, vault or masterwork component was obtained by the current character. Do not spend a Vault Core testing unrelated recipes.
